FACEBOOK & MORE PRINTS

I've joined Facebook under 'Lemon Shortbread'. Please add me if you have an account, I'm not quite sure how it works yet! My account is HERE

It seems very different from MySpace in that it's less spam-worthy and more on a personal level. Should I put my real name instead? It is not possible to view other people's profile unless I add them? I am still deciding if I should make one for my beading shop as I haven't figured how to utilise it for marketing yet.

Other than that my Etsy shop has 2 more ACEO-sized prints. Below is Appleberry Lolita, an 8.5 x 11" artwork more than a year old. Coloured in photoshop for a very long time! She originally had a darker sepia background but I changed it to beige for the prints to make her stand out more (in case people wanted to frame the ACEO).

The other one is 'Tropical Fruit Punch', an even older work. I've blogged about it being on Integrity Fashion's blouses as well here. They have been promoting it on celebs, check it out on their myspace picture albums. The photo below is one of it on Miley Cyrus.

JELLY & ELEANOR

I made some jelly today in strawberry and lemon flavours! The brand I used is a Singapore product called 'Tortally', and it tastes just right (not too sweet). Actually it is the only gelatin brand available in the supermarket, as opposed to Agar-agar and Konnyaku jelly which is more common here in Asia. The previous time I made jelly I wondered why it didn't set at room temperature (lol yes it's been a while since I've cooked desserts) as I got it confused with Agar-agar which does.

Did you know that gelatin is derived from animal skins, bones and hooves? So if you are vegan or muslim you might like to try Agar-agar which is made from seaweed or red algae; it takes longer to cook - you have to boil it, add flavourings and/or colourings and leave it at room temperature to set before placing in the fridge. It is much firmer than jelly but more flexible in terms of use because you can use the various forms in drinks, glaze on cakes as it doesn't melt after setting.
Before this blog turns into a food blog, here is a print I have listed on Etsy, entitled 'Watermelon Eleanor'. It is an early ACEO I sold on Ebay (#20). The name came about as I was hunting for a title and 'Eleanor Rigby' by the Beatles came to mind. It will be a limited edition run of 50. Check out the item here: Watermelon Eleanor
