We decided to head towards Lake Arrowhead/Big Bear Lake for another San Bernardino mountain drive, the last time we headed to Crestline (read my blogpost here). Here is another panorama shot of the mountains. For road directions, take the 330 towards Big Bear. We were dressed in summer clothes because it was pretty hot that day so we went up in the mountains to escape the heat.... in t-shirts and shorts (I was in jeans).
The flowers are blooming in the desert so now's a good time to go, if you want to see the fields of yellow.
The yucca is also blooming. This spot is at a hidden trail that runs down along the mountain, it is at the side of one of the road stops. You can easily find it when you get on foot. Nice bright clear day.
This part is along the side of the road where you can see a clear view of the mountains. The flowers add a touch of poetry to the scenery.

Climbing higher... we can see the clouds over the peaks now but it was getting cold. And then stopping for gas midway.
Remember I mentioned we were dressed in summer clothes lol. We ended up a bit higher than planned and definitely did not expect snow since it was so warm down the mountains and from the bottom we couldn't see snow on the peaks. We got off the car for some photos despite the cold. Initially we were heading to Lake Arrowhead but ended up going towards Big Bear, they share similar routes.

Above the clouds finally. And soooo cold. A good thing I brought 2 jackets... always. Just in case. The sun was going down so we didn't loiter long.
By the time we reached Big Bear it was already semi-dark. This photo is slightly enhanced so we can see Louie bear.
Big Bear Lake at dusk. It was windy and chilly but pretty from whatever light was left.

Wondercon 2014 at Anaheim Convention Center, on Easter Sunday. It was sunny and hot, and traffic was stuck for way too long. This time I did not take as many photos of cosplayers though there were many awesome ones around. Feel free to identify yourself in the comments section!

Strawberry Shortcake 1980s animation cels

I made a similar one long time ago with markers but this one is so much better!

Will get this Marty McFly cap when the price is lower.

Bought 2 items! I love Tuxedo Sam, maybe I should've gotten the Bad Badtz Maru too.

Here's a quick gif of the lunar eclipse & blood moon on at midnight of 14th and wee hours of 15th April. It was nice. My point & shoot camera managed to capture it (not all the way because I never thought of photographing it at first).

We did a quick dropby around the San Bernardino National Forest towards Crestline in California, for something to look at other than boring buildings. Yes, there are bits of beauty in San Bernardino, you just need to look. I have another post about the route to Big Bear Lake here. Check out the panorama photo I did! Four photos combined into one =) To full view you can right-click and open in new window to view it. I am returning to Singapore next week!

Edit Mar 2015: Since this post is popular, I added more photos from the trip.

Zoomed in shot, check out the smog in the cityline. Still pretty!
Here's something ugly: Stopped by an area where the brook is easily accessible from a bridge.
Same area, do not step in the stream. I repeat, DO NOT STEP IN THE WATER. There are leeches in there, learnt that the hard way many years ago. Maybe I'll tell of that incident someday when I nearly got crushed by a boulder at the same time lol. It is easy to explore in here but don't trust there wouldn't be any troublemakers loitering.
 Wild sunflowers.
 Driving on.
 Higher, higher! I don't drive.
Lake Gregory at Crestline, it is an artificial lake.
On the way back, when the sun was going down.
California sunsets are quite stunning.
Back to civilisation.
